تومورهای پستانی در سگ ها
تومورهای پستانی در سگ ها یکی از شایع ترین تومورها در سگ های ماده عقیم نشده است.
گرچه شیوع این نوع از تومورها در مناطقی که جراحی اواریکتومی یا اوارهیسترکتومی برای پیشگیری انجام می شود کاهش پیدا کرده اما هنوز به عنوان یکی از بیماری های مهم در دامپزشکی مطرح هست.
تومورهای پستانی در سگ و گربه از لحاظ رفتار بیولوژی و بافت شناسی با یک دیگر متفاوت هستند، حدود ۴۵ درصد از تومورهای پستانی در سگ ها بدخیم اند اما در گربه ها حدود ۹۰ درصد از این تومورها
بدخیم به حساب می آیند.
در سگ ها بیشتر غده های پستانی مغابنی و خلفی شکمی دچار این تومورها می شوند.
توده های بدخیم در سنین بالا و توده های خوش خیم در سنین پایین تر ایجاد می شوند.
علت اصلی ایجاد این تومورها مشخص نیست اما هورمون ها در هایپرپلازی و سرطان زایی بافت پستانی بسیار موثر هستند، تاثیر رسپتورهای استروژن و پروژسترون بر روی سلول های توموری گزارش شده
است. تجویز پروژسترون به منظور پیشگیری از فحلی سگ در رخداد تومورهای بدخیم اثبات شده است.
سگ هایی که قبل از نشان دادن اولین فحلی عقیم می شوند ممکن است فقط 5/0 درصد به تومور پستانی مبتلا شوند.
اگر قبل از دومین فحلی عقیم شوند ۸ درصد و بعد از دومین فحلی حدود ۲۶ درصد احتمال ابتلا به تومورهای پستانی است، پس بهتر است که عقیم سازی قبل از فحلی اول انجام گیرد تا در آینده چنین
مشکلاتی ایجاد نشود.
